This project explored the integration of Virtual and Augmented Reality to enhance interactive experiences. Utilizing technologies such as Leap Motion and Oculus Rift, the focus was on designing immersive digital environments. In collaboration with the Natur und Mensch museum in Freiburg, the goal was to augment selected exhibits with extended 3D models. These interactive enhancements provided visitors with deeper insights, visualizing background information and explanatory details in a more engaging and dynamic way.

After establishing a concept for six different exhibits (from the ethnology and nature study department), we used a game development platform and an AR software development kit to build our application for mobile devices.
A communication exchange with the museum enabled the implementation of our concepts as well as the progress and improvements.

Based on the previously developed concept, the next step focused on designing the user interface of the app itself.

The UI design's goal was to be easily usable, intuitive, simple and self-explanatory. It serves as a digital portal and a gateway between technology and end-user.
Not only lies the focus on the functionalities of the app, but it is meant to briefly explain how Augmented Reality as an innovative technology works in general. Icons and graphics are used to simplify the complexity of the topic.
The visual implementation of the basic architectural structure of the app whilst also emphasizing the significance of a responsive design has been documented. The interfaces are created in landscape as well as in portrait mode.
